Golgi apparatus
In Class 9 Science, students study the Golgi apparatus as an important cell organelle in the chapter “Cell: The Building Block of Life.” They learn how its flattened membrane-bound sacs modify, sort, package and transport proteins and other materials made within the cell. The topic also explains its role in secretion, the formation of lysosomes, and, in plant cells, the production of materials involved in cell-wall formation. Diagrams help students identify its structure and connect it with the endoplasmic reticulum and other organelles.
