Law of conservation of mass
In Class 9 Science, the Law of Conservation of Mass introduces the idea that matter is neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction. Students compare the total mass of the reactants with that of the products, understand why measurements are most reliable in a closed system, and connect the principle with atoms being rearranged rather than lost. The topic also supports writing and balancing chemical equations and interpreting simple reaction observations.
